
Katie Marshall is a 500h Registered Yoga Teacher ( Yoga Alliance) , Certified through YogaWorks, and has a B.A. in Psychology with coursework in Athletic Training, First Aid Care of Athletic Injuries, and Kinesiology.
Katie wasn’t always a yogi she played soccer for 20 years, playing club soccer throughout high school and ending up on scholarship at Lyon college in Arkansas, from there going on to play Semi- professional women’s soccer in Dallas, TX. Where she also worked for a physical and sports therapist as a specialized aide.Working with athletes of all levels from beginner to professional as well as non athletes. An injury forced her to hang up the soccer cleats, and that is where she found her passion for Yoga. After moving back to her home state of California, Katie decided she wanted to become a yoga teacher.
Combining her knowledge obtained from her studies in Psychology, being a high level athlete,and working in physical and sports therapy settings with the knowledge from her yoga training results in a safe and accessible yoga practice for her students. Katie focuses on proper alignment so that the body is less likely to experience injury in the moment and over time. weaving philosophy and yogic ideas throughout her sequences, use of english and sanskrit, Pranayama (breathwork) and Meditation. Katie’s classes appeal to athletes as well as those looking for a traditional yoga experience, with a little bit of something for everyone. Katie strongly believes yoga is for everyone and every body and hopes you will meet her on the mat.
